2025 invited the Terran team to pause and reexamine who we are and where we want to go. It was a year marked by transition, growth, and thoughtful decision-making, beginning with a shift in how we present ourselves to the world. What once was Terra Translations is now simply Terra, a change that reflects our evolution within a rapidly transforming language industry. This adjustment pushed us to look inward, reassess our identity, and align our work more closely than ever with a future in which linguistic services, technology, and human connection exist side by side.
As our CEO, Marina Ilari, often reminds us: “At its core, this industry is about connecting people. No matter how much technology we bring in, language will always be the bridge.”
This perspective has guided many of the choices we made throughout the year. In many ways, the renaming was less about shortening a title and more about embracing the company we have become. Terra today stands at the intersection of language, innovation, and long-term partnerships. As we close this chapter and prepare for 2026, reflection on these elements, and our place among them, feels not only natural, but necessary.
Renewing Our Commitment to Quality and Security
Our focus remained centered on quality and security in 2025. We continued strengthening our internal processes and reaffirming our promise to deliver reliable linguistic services to our clients.
Revalidating Quality Standards

We successfully revalidated our certification in ISO 9001, ISO 17100, and ISO 18587 standards in a renewal of our commitment to high-quality workflows, professional translation practices, and robust post-editing processes.
These validations remind us that quality is not a one-time achievement, but an ongoing effort shaped by continuous improvement and the dedication of every Terran involved in operation and administration. SECURITY BUILT ON STRONGER FOUNDATIONS
Information security also remained a key consideration for Terrans throughout 2025. This year, we faced the important challenge of revalidating our ISO 27001 certification, which required revisiting processes, strengthening protocols, and addressing findings from previous audits with transparency and teamwork.

Revalidating a standard of this magnitude demanded complex, cross-company coordination, and our IT team worked closely with multiple departments to ensure every requirement was met thoughtfully and thoroughly. That collaborative effort helped Terra further mature our Information Security Management System, which both illustrated and reinforced our sense of responsibility to safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
Claudio Oulego, Terra’s IT coordinator, reflected on the enormous group effort with pride. “I was proud to see how much our Information Security Management System has grown, and how much we have grown as a team. Today, we can say we are a mature organization when it comes to security, and that is thanks to everyone.” With this renewed certification and others, Terra closes 2025 with an even stronger foundation and clearer path for cybersecurity efforts in the coming year.
Purpose at the Heart of Our Work
A sense of purpose guided us through every project, meeting, and collaboration this year. It shaped how we communicated, how we supported our partners, and how we showed up for our community and industry, serving as a steady reminder, always, of why we do what we do.
Contributing with Purpose

Terra Cares remained an essential part of our identity this year. Throughout 2025, our teams continued providing pro bono linguistic services to organizations working to make a positive social impact. This included collaborations with Chicas en Tecnología, Doctors Without Borders, and Sustentabilidad Sin Fronteras.
Their appreciation for our work served as a constant reminder to us that language access matters, and how meaningful it can be when teams use their skills to support causes beyond their daily tasks.
ONE MESSAGE CAPTURED THIS GRATITUDE:
“Thank you so much for this. You cannot imagine how important it is for us to share this package about Colombia with the international DWB movement, something that is only possible thanks to having it in English. Please extend our gratitude to all translators and the rest of the team we usually work with.” shared Carolina Heidenhain, communications director of Doctors Without Borders.
These partnerships reaffirmed for us that our purpose at Terra extends far beyond project delivery, and into the impact we help create with our work.
Purposeful Connections

2025 also presented opportunities for us to be present in conversations shaping the future of the language industry. Terra participated in global events, conferences, webinars, and industry gatherings, continuing a tradition of showing up with intention. Our presence was never about being seen. It was about connection. It was about listening, learning, exchanging perspectives, and contributing to discussions that matter for our clients, partners, and peers.
In this sense, one major highlight of 2025 was the live panel “Innovation with Purpose: A Human-Centric Approach,” hosted by Terra and moderated by our CEO. It brought together voices reflecting on technology, ethics, and the human values that guide our work.
These moments reminded us that a strong sense of purpose is the thread that ties our community together, whether we are supporting a nonprofit, partnering with clients, or sharing insights on an international stage.
Looking Toward 2026
As we close out 2025, a process of continued reflection anchors us as we consider what is yet to come. This year challenged us, strengthened us, and brought clarity to who we want to be as Terrans.
The transition from Terra Translations to Terra was both symbolic and strategic. It marked a shift into a future where we continue to honor language, embrace innovation wisely, and remain grounded in the relationships that shape our work.
The year ahead will bring change of its own. But the values that carried us here hold fast: commitment, responsibility, and purpose. Here’s to a thoughtful start to 2026, and to everything we will continue building together.
